Feedback is a gift
A wise leader gives feedback generously and receives it graciously. It is imperative that as you continue to lead, you understand the impact that you have on your colleagues, staff members, and even managers. I encourage you to step back and ask, "what is it that you want me to start, stop, and continue doing?"
Those three questions will allow you to increase your self-awareness and attack your blind spots. These are what we call internal biases that we are not even aware of; however, by soliciting feedback, you will be able to learn and grow as a leader. The feedback that you receive is a gift!
In order to change and apply the feedback that you've learned, you need a growth mindset. You look at failure as an opportunity to grow rather than a limit to your abilities. This is one of the many different strategies that you can utilize to obtain feedback.
